Scattered Seeds of Troy
Inspired by Euripides’ The Trojan Women, this new performance from Farm Arts Collective asks a haunting question: what do women carry with them when they are forced to leave home? Reimagining Hecuba, Andromache, Cassandra, and Helen through a contemporary lens, Scattered Seeds of Troy explores migration, survival, and the search for agency in a broken world. Seeds become both literal and symbolic—food, memory, inheritance, resistance. Created through Tannis Kowalchuk’s devised theatre process, the piece blends movement, text, music, and visual spectacle into a timely meditation on displacement and hope.

Farm Arts Collective
Farm Arts Collected was founded in 2018 on Willow Wisp Organic Farm, a 25-acre solar powered organic vegetable and flower farm. The collective was founded by theatre maker and farmer Tannis Kowalchuk and a large circle of collaborators who wanted to explore projects and programs that intersect farming, art, food, and ecology to build a healthy, just, and creative rural culture. In 2024 Farm Arts Collective built a new home—an agri-cultural center in modern new barn on the farm. The space is a flexible room, fully-equipped for music, education, special events, and theatre performances including the summer flagship performance Dream on the Farm. Farm Arts Collective’s resident theatre ensemble is made up of 25+ actors, writers, musicians, designers, farmers, and activists.
